Job Description:

Primary Purpose of Role:

Are you passionate about solving complex technical problems and bringing innovative products to life? We are seeking a Senior Platform Controls Software Engineer to join our dynamic and fast‑paced team.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on cutting‑edge technology and develop software for a range of innovative powertrain controls. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and testing embedded software controls that are the platform by which our products are built upon, thus providing the most reliable and valued propulsion solutions in the world to enable our customers to work more efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, test and document embedded control system software on top of which Powertrain applications will be built.
  • Perform functional and unit testing, integration testing, system verification, automated testing within HIL/SIL environments.
  • Work with/in cross‑functional engineering teams of Systems, Algorithm, Calibration and Validation engineers to develop existing and new products.
  • Develop software requirements from functional requirements.
  • Develop software designs and design documentation.
  • Design and implement embedded software to meet functional requirements.
  • Analyze software behavior to find root cause and suggest corrective actions for unexpected or unacceptable operation.
  • Describe & present work results to peers and leadership as needed.
  • Conduct design and implementation reviews of software.
  • Archive work products to document process compliance and for future maintenance needs.
Qualifications:

Required

Education:
  • BS in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Science.
Preferred Education:
  • Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
Required Experience:
  • 5+ years of automotive engineering experience developing C and C++ real‑time embedded controls.
  • Experience using Visual Studio or VS Code Integrated Development Environment (IDE).
  • Experience with Git Hub for software version control & change management.
  • Experience with software quality processes & tools, such as CMMI, SPICE, Autosar.
  • Technical leadership experience.
  • Experience with all or a few of the following: real‑time operating systems (RTOS), linker command files, microcontroller memory management, hardware/software interface (HSI) layer software, and failure detection of sensors/actuators/internal controller failure modes.
Preferred Experience:
  • Supervisory experience.
  • ISO 26262 Certification.
  • ISO 21434 Certification.
