Fraunhofer SIT is one of the leading research and development institutes for secure information technology in Germany and Europe. The focus is on applied research and the development of innovative solutions for real security and data protection issues. The Secure Software Engineering research department researches and develops innovative solutions for the automatic identification of malware, vulnerabilities and exploits in software components.
As a team, we have already developed and marketed various tools.
To support our team, we are now looking for a student assistant in the field of Java development for security analysis tools. IT security knowledge is not mandatory, but sound knowledge of software development with Java is.
What you will do- Further development of the backend of our existing innovative security analysis tools with Java
- Implementation of backend functionalities of the vulnerability scanner in an agile development process
- Computer science degree with practical experience in Java development (please provide a current transcript of records!)
- Creativity, self‑motivation and enthusiasm
- Very good programming skills
- Project experience in software development
- Knowledge of static program analysis with Soot or related frameworks is an advantage, but not essential
- Insights into the intersection of academic research and industrial application
- Constant testing and use of new technologies
- Collaboration in a dynamic team that develops agile software
- Student assistant activities often lead to bachelor's/master's theses or permanent positions
The weekly working time is 10-20 hours. This position is also available on a part-time basis.
