Assistant Coach

Overview

Position: Assistant Coach

Position Summary: The Assistant Coach must be committed and student-focused and work collaboratively with the Head Coach to develop student-athletes academically, athletically, and personally while upholding the values and expectations of the school and athletic department.

• Knowledge of the assigned sport's fundamentals, strategies, and player development
• Ability to work collaboratively under the direction of the Head Coach.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with student-athletes and families.
• Ability to meet all district and state coaching certification requirements.
• Knowledge of the assigned sport's fundamentals and strategies.

• Prior coaching or competitive playing experience preferred.
• Teaching license and/or employment within the district.
• Experience working with adolescent students or developing youth programs.
• Background in strength and conditioning principles.
• Previous coaching experience at the middle school, high school, or collegiate level.
• Demonstrated commitment to character development and positive team culture.

• Assist the Head Coach in implementing the program's philosophy, goals, and expectations.
• Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and competitive team culture.

• Provide instruction in sport-specific fundamentals, strategy, and skill development.
• Support individual growth and development of all student-athletes.
• Promote leadership, teamwork, resilience, and character.

• Supervise athletes during practices, competitions, team travel, and related events.
• Assist with game preparation, scouting, and in-game responsibilities as assigned.

• Maintain professional and timely communication with the Head Coach, players, parents, and administration.
• Represent the school and athletic program positively at all times.
