Role DescriptionThis is a full-time, on-site Director of Athletics role based in Corydon, IN. The Director of Athletics will oversee the planning, development, and implementation of youth and adult sports programs. Responsibilities include managing staff and volunteers, maintaining quality and safety standards for programs, and building strong relationships with participants and community members. The role also involves budget management, marketing and promotion of programs, and coordinating facilities and schedules to ensure efficient delivery of services.
Qualifications- Leadership and Management:
Experience in program administration, staff supervision, team building, and volunteer management. - Sports and Recreation:
Knowledge of athletic programming, sports operations, and safety standards within a community-focused setting. - Communication and Interpersonal
Skills:
Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with the ability to build relationships with diverse groups and inspire participation. - Organizational and Planning
Skills:
Proven ability to handle budgeting, resource allocation, facility scheduling, and program promotion. - Educational Background:
Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Recreation, or a related field is preferred; equivalent combination of education and professional experience may be considered. - Commitment to Community Service:
Dedication to the mission of the YMCA to strengthen communities through youth development and healthy living. - Certifications:
CPR, First Aid, and other safety certifications, or willingness to obtain these certifications within a specified time frame. - Experience working within non-profit sectors or community organizations is an asset.
