Swim Coach - Part Time

POSITION

The Washington Township Swim Club (WTSC) is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Lead Group Coach. This position reports directly to the WTSC Head Age Group Coach and WTSC Head Coach.

WTSC trains at the North Central High School natatorium, a modern 10-lane, 50-meter facility. The club hosts 4-6 meets per year. North Central High School is located on the north side of Indianapolis in Washington Township. WTSC has a rich history of involvement with the Indiana Swimming LSC and competitive performance in line with its motto, “Superior Swimming in a Supportive Community,” and has experienced strong recent growth.

• Lead coach for the WTSC Silver Group (primarily ages 11-12).
• Attend approximately 8 hours of practice per week and weekend meets when applicable.
• Establish and maintain positive relationships and open communication with swimmers, parents, and the WTSC staff.
• Create a positive atmosphere where swimmers have fun and learn the many lessons taught by competitive swimming in a supportive environment.
• Assist in recruiting new swimmers through the schools and local summer teams.
• Assist with evaluation sessions for new swimmers.
• Administrative duties as assigned by Head Age Group Coach and Head Coach.

• Competitive swimming experience (required)
• Previous coaching experience (preferred but not required)
• Current or in the process of completing Red Cross or equivalent lifeguarding certification
• Compliant with or in the process of completing all USA Swimming Safe Sport requirements (background, APT, etc.)

This is a part-time position paid a competitive wage. WTSC will cover the cost of all certifications as well as provide opportunities for continuing education. Additional income opportunities are available within the school district.
