Job DescriptionTITLE: Head Coach - Girls Swimming
CLASSIFICATION: Extra-Duty
REPORT TO: Athletic Director
Qualifications- Experience coaching/participating in sports at the high school or collegiate level preferred
- Prior coaching experience is desirable
- Knowledge of NFHS, IHSAA, and/or other applicable rules and regulations
- Knowledge of basic First Aid and Athletic Training practices
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to communicate effectively with students, teachers, coaches, and the community while fostering a positive atmosphere
- Such alternatives to the above as the Administration may find appropriate and acceptable
- Coach individual student athletes in mechanics and skills necessary for achievement in competitive sports
- Coordinate and supervise a regular schedule of practice
- Encourage sportsmanship and team unity and enforce all sportsmanship guidelines
- Enforce discipline of contests, school, conference, and state rules and regulations
- Supervise coaching staff and provide opportunities to enhance professional development
- Oversee safety conditions and accountability involving students and facilities on and off campus
- Maintain accurate records of uniforms, equipment, statistics, and accomplishments
- Submit required forms and athletic documents; recommend purchase of equipment and supplies
- Attend required meetings and clinics for coaches, state and conference selection, and Athletic Boosters
- Provide and display a willingness to work with Athletics Department Administration, staff, student athletes, and parents with a dynamic practice and game schedule
- Develop a total K-12 program, on and off season, through camps, drills, and training
- Coordinate and develop effective and sustainable fundraising plan with the Athletic Director
- Coaches may need to transport athletes in corporation vehicles; a valid driver’s license is required
- Performs other related duties as assigned by Principal, Athletic Director, or designee
Constitute the ability to sit, reach with hands and arms; stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl as needed; and occasionally lift/move up to 40 pounds.
Note:
The employee shall remain free of alcohol or non-prescribed controlled substance abuse in the workplace throughout employment.
