We are seeking a skilled and safety-focused CDL Driver to support the daily operations of chemical distribution. This role involves the safe and efficient operation of Class 8 tractors and related equipment to transport hazardous and non-hazardous materials, including both liquid and dry products.
Responsibilities- Perform bulk and packaged deliveries, including loading and unloading with pumps, air, and other equipment.
- Manage the entire process: transport, proper transfer, securement, and execution of all applicable paperwork.
- Execute loading/unloading procedures for liquids, dry products, drums, IBCs, pallets and supersacks.
- Maintain compliance with DOT, OSHA, and Brenntag safety standards, including placarding, pre‑inspection, daily logs and repair reporting.
- Operate and care for all assigned equipment, including ELDs, virtual gateways, camera systems and tracking units.
- Communicate with supervisors or dispatchers for delivery instructions and updates.
- Assist with general warehouse duties and the use of applicable equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts, dock locks and dock levelers.
- Maintain good housekeeping and equipment readiness before use.
- High school diploma, GED or U.S. military experience.
- Prior experience in chemical delivery is preferred but not required if other credentials are met.
- Valid Class "A" CDL with Tanker, Bulk and/or Hazmat endorsement as required.
- Current DOT medical card and, if required for the location, a current TWIC card or proof of application.
- Ability to operate a manual transmission.
- Minimum of 1 year liquid bulk hauling experience or 3 years commercial truck driving experience (preferred).
- Certification from an accredited commercial driving academy is a plus.
- Willingness to work overtime or weekends as needed.
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills in English and basic math proficiency.
- Ability to use technology‑based devices such as smartphones, tablets, and transportation platforms (e.g., Samsara).
- Willingness to reside within sixty miles of the operating area.
- Pass a pre‑employment drug screen, background check, E‑Verify check and DOT fit‑for‑duty exam.
- Certifications for equipment such as pallet jack (electric or manual); if required, forklift and applicable accessories.
- Must be able to operate dock levelers, dock locks and other delivery/pickup equipment.
- Must be able to wear a respirator (if required) and all other personal protective equipment.
- Pass a pre‑employment DOT fit‑for‑duty exam.
- Ability to sit and drive for long hours.
- Ability to step in/out of equipment safely.
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and push/pull or move up to 150 pounds.
- Capability to climb ladders and operate hazardous material equipment.
