Overview
Benton Community Schools will train applicants who wish to become qualified to drive a school bus for Benton Community Schools. Whether you can drive mornings, afternoons or both, we would love to have you.
FREE TRAINING and a SIGN ON BONUS OF $175 - after completion and obtaining the CDL B with a P (passenger) and S (school bus) endorsements.

What to Expect- Starting pay $23.35 up to $32.07 an hour

- A valid Indiana Driver License
- Obtain a Class B CDL with airbrakes, passenger and school bus endorsements
- Clean driving history
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Pass a pre-employment drug screen
- Pass a background check
- Demonstrate the ability to work cooperatively with other staff.
- Pass a DOT Physical and Physical Fitness Test every two years
- The ability to learn new skills
- Complete a pre-trip inspection prior to each use of the bus.
- Obey all traffic laws.
- Observe all FCC regulations for the use of the two-way radio.
- Supervise the boarding and deboarding of students.
- Maintain discipline when students are on the bus.
- Keep assigned bus(es) clean each day.
- Follow assigned schedules and routes.
- Discharge students only at authorized stops.
- Transport only authorized students.
- Report all accidents and complete proper forms.
- Maintain at least one half a tank of fuel.
- Attend meetings as requested or required.
- Complete all required paperwork timely.
- Follow all procedures, policies, and directives of the district.
- Perform other duties as assigned or needed.
- Comply with all directives from supervisor-written or verbal.
