Overview
Republic Airways is recruiting a Dispatcher who is positive, dependable, and focused on maintaining the safety of our guests and associates as they hold the responsibility of fulfilling campus transportation needs, including the 105,000 square foot trainer center, corporate headquarters, adjacent hotels, and parking garage at our Corporate Headquarters in Carmel, Indiana. The Shuttle Bus Dispatcher duties include scheduling drivers, assigning routes, ensuring proper coverage to meet business requirements, assisting with record maintenance, accident reporting, and giving drivers direction.
A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is not required for this role
Responsibilities- Coordinate Shuttle Buses on campus and provide transportation to and from off-site parking and between campus and off-campus sites.
- Schedule drivers and maintain proper coverage.
- Communicate information and instructions to drivers (schedules, route changes, road conditions, accidents, emergencies, etc.), advising on situations that may impact transportation services.
- Collaborate with the Supervisor of Drivers to stand in for the Operations Manager when necessary.
- Coordinate with the Supervisor of Drivers and Dispatchers to ensure around-the-clock coverage of phone calls, emails, and text messages for seamless department operation.
- Maintain driver work tickets and ensure they are available to drivers with advance notice.
- Receive and maintain all driver paperwork and files (fuel receipts, paper logs if needed, vehicle inspection reports).
- Monitor service for timeliness and consistency.
- Assist the Shuttle Bus Operations Manager, dispatch supervisor, and driver supervisor with driver training, recruitment, and engagement.
- Follow all company, DOT, OSHA, Drug & Alcohol policies and other guidelines as required.
- Greet all team members with appropriate greetings.
- Establish and maintain clear communications with drivers and management to ensure a consistent, superior level of customer service.
- Perform other duties as assigned or delegated by the Operations Manager and both Supervisors.
- Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Must be at least 21 years of age due to licensed driving requirements
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with guests and drivers
- Proven record of following state and federal motor vehicle regulations
- Ability to work with minimal supervision, report to work regularly and on-time, and be self-motivated
- Knowledge of DOT rules and regulations and Republic Drug and Alcohol policies
- Flexibility for seasonal schedule changes and weekend work
- Experience with computers and software (Microsoft Office Suite, Teams, and Outlook)
- 2 years’ dispatch experience with a passenger transportation company
- Be in good standing with Republic Airways
- Travel privileges across Delta and United as well as ZED
