At Crete Carrier and Shaffer Trucking, our miles are up significantly. We need more safe, experienced drivers to meet customer needs. Crete, Shaffer, and Hunt drivers are paid based on practical miles, which pays 3-5% more total miles per year than short-route pay. With the recent speed improvements to 68 MPH on cruise and 65 MPH on pedal, productivity for the top 50% of our OTR drivers remains strong.

The most productive drivers average more than $101,176 annually, equating to over $1,945 weekly. The top 50% of Hunt Transportation drivers average $93,347 annually ($1,795 per week), with starting pay ranging from $0.65 to $0.68 per mile. We also offer comprehensive health insurance, a matching 401(k), and a profit-sharing plan that contributed $11.5 million in 2025 and more than $103 million to employee retirement accounts since 2018.
