Canadian Executive Search Group is seeking a Fleet Manager for one of our automotive manufacturing clients in Roanoke, IN
- Schedule:
Monday-Friday 4am-1pm - Pay:
up to $38.46
The Fleet Manager will oversee the acquisition, maintenance, repair, and utilization of the company’s fleet while ensuring operational efficiency, safety compliance, and cost-effective fleet performance.
Key Responsibilities Fleet Operations- Oversee the daily operation, maintenance, and utilization of the company’s fleet and automotive equipment.
- Coordinate fleet repair schedules to maximize equipment uptime and minimize operational disruptions.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to improve fleet reliability and extend equipment life.
- Monitor fleet performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce operating costs.
- Coordinate maintenance and repair activities with internal maintenance personnel and external vendors.
- Ensure vehicles and equipment are inspected, serviced, and repaired according to company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, service schedules, and repair histories.
- Monitor vehicle condition and recommend equipment replacement or upgrades when appropriate.
- Lead the procurement of company vehicles, fleet equipment, parts, tools, and maintenance supplies.
- Evaluate new fleet equipment based on operational performance, maintenance costs, safety, and environmental compliance.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with manufacturers, vendors, and service providers.
- Review and submit recommendations for equipment modifications and fleet improvements.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local transportation, environmental, and safety regulations.
- Promote safe operating practices and ensure fleet personnel follow company safety policies and procedures.
- Support inspections, audits, and regulatory compliance initiatives.
- Supervise and support fleet personnel while promoting accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Develop operational strategies to improve fleet utilization and reduce downtime.
- Monitor fleet budgets, maintenance expenses, and operating costs.
- Prepare reports on fleet performance, maintenance activities, and operational metrics for leadership.
- Associate’s Degree in Automotive Technology, Fleet Management, Business, or a related field;
or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience. - Minimum of 6 months to 1 year of fleet management, maintenance, or transportation experience
, with additional experience preferred. - Strong knowledge of fleet maintenance, vehicle repair, preventive maintenance programs, and equipment lifecycle management.
- Experience coordinating repairs, maintenance schedules, and vendor services.
- Excellent organizational, leadership, and problem‑solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and fleet maintenance management software or CMMS systems.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced industrial environment while managing multiple priorities.
