I. Job Summary
Drive heavy-duty trucks and transport materials to disposal, transfer or recycle facilities. Responsibilities include pick-up service of containers filled with waste or recyclable material, maneuvering wheeled containers, and performing backing maneuvers. Residential and Roll-off driving responsibilities are described in detail in the job summary. This role requires safe operation in high-traffic environments and precise backing.
II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Operate vehicle in accordance with Safety and Life Critical Rules, OSHA and DOT requirements, and all local, state and federal laws.
Perform pre- and post-trip inspections and document checks using DVIR.
Report unsafe situations or service-related issues to Operations Manager or Dispatch.
Attend training programs and meetings as required; work with Operations Manager to improve route efficiencies.
Notifies Operations Manager of incidents, hazards, or service interruptions.
Communicates customer requests and ensures the location is left clean and free of debris.
Complete end-of-day documentation and check-out process; assist other drivers as needed.
III. Qualifications
A. Required Qualifications
1 year operating a vehicle requiring a CDL or 1 year equivalent military driving within the last 7 years
Must be at least 18 years of age and legally eligible to work
Able to read, write, and speak English well enough to interact with the public and complete records
Pre-employment screening, including drug screen and physical
CDL Class A with air-brake endorsement or CDL Class B with air-brake endorsement
B. Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED (accredited)
