CDL-A OTR OPEN-DECK DRIVER UP TO 29% REVENUE | NEWER EQUIPMENT | WEEKLY PAY HIRING AREA
Indianapolis, Indiana and surrounding Central Indiana area
This is an OTR opportunity. Available operations may extend throughout the lower 48 states depending on the specific motor carrier and freight network.
OPEN-DECK DRIVERS KNOW THE DIFFERENCEPulling open-deck freight isn't the same job as backing into a dock with a dry van.
Load placement matters. Securement matters. Weather matters. Route planning matters. And when you're hauling specialized freight, experience behind the wheel matters.
Truck Driver Nation is currently reviewing experienced CDL-A drivers for qualifying OTR open-deck opportunities, including Flatbed, Step Deck, and Conestoga operations.
If you have open-deck experience and are looking for percentage-based compensation, newer equipment, strong freight availability, and scheduled home time, we want to review your qualifications.
COMPENSATIONDepending on the available position, freight type, and driver qualifications, current opportunities may offer:
- Approximately 27%–29% of applicable freight revenue
- Weekly pay
- Direct deposit
- Consistent OTR freight availability
- Additional compensation where applicable to the specific position
Percentage compensation does not guarantee a specific weekly income.
Actual earnings depend on freight revenue, freight availability, miles, driver availability, qualifications, operating conditions, and the compensation structure of the applicable motor carrier.
OPEN-DECK FREIGHTAvailable opportunities may involve:
- Flatbed
- Step Deck
- Conestoga
- Specialized open-deck freight
- Multi-state OTR operations
- Long-haul freight
Previous Flatbed, Step Deck, Conestoga, load-securement, or similar open-deck experience is strongly preferred.
Specific freight and trailer assignments depend on the motor carrier and available position.
EQUIPMENTSelect current opportunities may offer newer equipment, including:
- 2022–2026 model-year tractors
- Freightliner equipment
- Volvo equipment
- Sleeper tractors
- OTR equipment configured for extended operations
Exact truck year, make, model, trailer type, and equipment availability are determined by the applicable motor carrier.
HOME TIMESome qualifying opportunities operate on approximately:
- 3 weeks OTR
- 1 week scheduled home time
Other schedules may be available depending on driver location and the applicable carrier.
Exact home-time expectations will be discussed before placement.
WHERE YOU MAY RUNAvailable positions may operate throughout the lower 48 states.
Some opportunities may allow qualified drivers to avoid certain operating areas, including select West Coast or New York freight, depending on the carrier and available lanes.
We do not guarantee particular lanes or exclusions until they are confirmed for the specific position.
DRIVER QUALIFICATIONSApplicants should generally have:
- Valid Class A CDL
- Current medical card
- Approximately 2+ years of CDL-A experience
- Acceptable driving record
- OTR availability
- Professional communication skills
- Ability to meet DOT qualification requirements
- Ability to satisfy the applicable motor carrier's hiring standards
Open-deck experience is strongly preferred.
Some current opportunities may not accept applicants participating in or requiring a SAP program. Final eligibility is determined by the applicable motor carrier.
WHY THIS POSITION IS DIFFERENTAn experienced open-deck driver isn't evaluating a job based on one number.
You want to know what you're hauling.
You want to know what percentage you're receiving.
You want to know what equipment you're operating.
You want to know how long you're staying out.
And you want to know whether the freight network makes sense for the way you run.
That's what we're trying to match.
