Principal Function: The Box Truck Driver is responsible for transporting and delivering items for NOW Courier customers in a company provided vehicle.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Picks up and delivers product in a timely fashion as schedule indicates.
- Maintains reports and log books while performing duties.
- Obeys traffic laws and follows established traffic and transportation procedures.
- Operates and maintains equipment in a safe manner at all times.
- Loads and unloads product for stock or delivery.
- Interprets maps and driving directions to operate the most efficient route service.
- Inspects truck equipment and supplies as prescribed by company procedures.
- Reports any mechanical problems encountered with truck or equipment.
- Verifies contents of product loads.
- Reports delays, accidents, or other traffic and transportation situations to dispatch or manager.
- Assists with warehouse operations, including sorting freight and dismantling shipping containers.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education and/or
Experience:
High School Diploma or G.E.D.; and one year of experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous experience operating a 26' commercial vehicle is required.

- Must have and maintain a verifiable Driver's License, demonstrated safe driving record, and remain insurable through the company's liability insurance carrier as applicable.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less), distance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more), color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors), peripheral vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point), depth perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships), and the ability to adjust focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus).
