Position Description
Ryder is immediately hiring Temporary to Permanent Warehouse Associates in Whitestown, Indiana. This role is part of our warehouse operations and involves handling electronic repair parts and operating equipment such as pallet jacks and RF scanners.
Pay and ScheduleHourly Pay: $18.24 per hour.
Overtime Pay: $27.36 per hour.
Shift Premium: $1.50 per hour when working 2nd shift.
Schedule:
2nd Shift 5:00 pm – 1:00 am, Monday – Friday.

- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- Six months of related warehouse experience required
- One year or more related warehouse experience preferred
- Ability to operate powered industrial trucks (stand‑up or sit‑down forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.) and basic maintenance such as battery changes and issue recognition (intermediate proficiency required)
- May be required to operate manual or automated warehouse equipment such as packaging lines (intermediate proficiency preferred)
- Powered industrial truck certification
- Ability to read, write and perform basic mathematics in English for safety and work instructions
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted
- Proficiency in entering data into WMS computer systems
- Willingness to work overtime as assigned
- Strong interpersonal skills to build professional relationships at all levels of the organization
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Fast‑paced, self‑driven, highly organized with excellent time‑management skills
- Detail oriented with strong follow‑up capabilities
- Package, kit, assemble orders and materials.
- Load and unload inbound/outbound trailers; ensure accurate scanning and maintain facility security at shift end.
- Help train dock employees on new procedures; investigate and resolve scanning issues and housekeeping concerns.
- Perform picking and packing duties; check for product or container damage.
- Carry out tasks as described by location policies and procedures, including handling of materials within associated logical transactions.
- Execute material moves with associated physical and logical transactions as required.
- Participate in workgroup and team activities aimed at improving warehouse operations and related business functions.
- Maintain housekeeping duties for assigned area.
- Perform other assigned duties as needed.
Some positions may require additional screening, including employment and education verification, motor vehicle records checks, a road test, or background requirements of the customer to whom you may be assigned.
