Warehouse Associate 1st Shift

Position Description

Ryder is immediately hiring Temporary to Permanent Warehouse Associates in Whitestown, Indiana.

• Hourly Pay: $18.24 per hour
• Overtime Pay: $27.36 per hour
• Schedule:
  
  First Shift 6:30am - 4:30pm Monday-Thursday

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
• Six months of related warehouse experience (required)
• One year or more of related warehouse experience (preferred)
• Learn to operate powered industrial truck(s) and maintain them, including battery change and identifying common mechanical issues (intermediate required)
• May be required to operate manual and/or automated warehouse equipment (e.g., packaging line) (intermediate preferred)
• Powered industrial truck certification
• Ability to read, apply basic mathematics in English for safety, work instructions, policies, etc.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted
• Ability to input data into the WMS computer system(s) in use
• Will work overtime as assigned
• Ability to create and maintain professional relationships at all levels of the organization (peers, work groups, customers, supervisors)
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
• Flexibility to operate and self-drive to excel in a fast‑paced environment
• Capable of multi‑tasking and highly organized with excellent time management skills
• Detail oriented with excellent follow‑up practices

• Package, kit, and/or assemble orders and materials.
• Load and unload inbound/outbound trailers, ensuring all scanning is completed correctly and training dock employees on new procedures.
• Secure the facility at the end of the shift, investigate and resolve scanning issues, and maintain housekeeping.
• Perform picking and packing duties and check for evidence of product or container damage.
• Execute assigned tasks per location policies and procedures, handling materials within associated logical transactions.
• Perform material moves with required physical and logical transactions.
• Participate in workgroup and other team activities to drive self‑improvement and enhance warehouse operations and related business functions.
• Carry out housekeeping duties for the assigned area.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
