Purchasing and Receiving Clerk

This position is responsible for overseeing all storeroom inventory and operations.

Responsibilities
  • Check shipment by comparing it with purchase order and/or invoice to ensure what is being received is what was ordered (quantity, price, quality, state, size, count, weight tolerance and acceptable expiration date and received at the proper temperature).
  • Work in conjunction with Director of Food and Beverage, Executive Chef and Director of Finance to ensure appropriate handling, transport, and documentation of all food ordering and receiving between departments.
  • Work in conjunction with the Front Desk Team to ensure appropriate handling and transport of packages received for hotel departments.
  • Follow/adhere to established standard operating procedures and local health regulations.
  • Document discrepancy and notify supervisor immediately of shortage.
  • Help to set up local vendors and products and communicate items that need to be used.
  • Assist with placing orders or any other reasonable task assigned.
  • Receive orders and rotate stock when putting the orders away. All incoming products must be rotated and dated to ensure the products are rotated properly to avoid spoilage.
  • Assist in conducting End-Of-Month Physical Inventory.
  • Ensure all storage areas and walk-in coolers are clean and organized at all times.
  • Ensure service and receiving landing are clean and organized.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Expectations
  • Minimum formal education of a high school diploma or GED.
  • At least one year of job-related experience in purchasing, inventory control, or warehouse operations.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of safety standards and proper storage procedures.
  • Ability to carry, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly and occasionally up to 75 lbs with assistance.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.
