Location: Indianapolis
Position Overview
The Material Handler performs the physical or administrative tasks associated with shipping, receiving, order fulfillment, storage, and distribution of materials, parts, supplies, and equipment, supporting logistics operations in our facility.
Responsibilities- Perform shipping, receiving, order fulfillment, storage, and distribution of materials, parts, supplies, and equipment.
- Receive and verify incoming materials and supplies, prepare bills of lading and shipping manifests, and route shipments appropriately.
- Move material within the warehouse, distribution, and production facilities, and fill customers’ orders accurately.
- Pick items using RF or voice picking systems.
- Pack, ship, receive, and maintain inventory of product and raw material, ensuring attention to detail.
- Examine, stock, and distribute materials in inventory.
- Accurately pull and pack products for customer orders, ensuring correct lot numbers, shipping temperature, address, and shipping methods.
- Pick and pack in different temperature environments such as refrigerated, frozen, or ambient.
- Receive all incoming materials and store them at the correct temperature.
- Inspect and compare with packing lists, bills of lading, purchase orders, and related documentation.
- Report discrepancies or damaged goods.
- Document and label materials according to procedures.
- Perform administrative tasks related to products and materials, such as coordinating shipments, preparing and reviewing customer orders, preparing shipping and receiving documents, and utilizing the database to enter and maintain product information.
- Identify issues involving logistics, customer orders, shipping, and receiving areas.
- Operate material handling equipment as necessary, including a forklift and man‑up order picker.
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and ISO 13485 principles and applications.
- Maintain and continuously improve the quality system and achieve quality objectives through daily actions.
- Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalency, 1 year of work experience, English proficiency, and ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Preferred Qualifications: Basic computer skills with competency in standard software packages such as Word and Excel; strong interpersonal skills, proactiveness, and teamwork; good written and verbal communication; strong organizational, problem‑solving skills, and attention to detail; basic math calculations; thorough understanding of safety procedures.
Fixed‑duration position for up to 3 years. Salary range is $32,100–$59,500 based on experience and location. A discretionary annual bonus may be available. No relocation benefits are offered.
