General Warehouse Worker

This position may be asked to perform the duties of a picker, container unloader, shipping divert worker or jam breaker or other positions in the warehouse.

• Read, write, and speak English.
• Build pallets accurately according to pick tickets.
• Be willing to be trained to operate manual and electric pallet jacks.
• Meet department goals for throw rate.
• Ensure proper floor space is kept open for loaders.
• Perform with excellent attention to detail.
• Locate all physical locations.
• Verify quantity, item, and description.
• Perform basic arithmetic; use a calculator.
• Use handheld device (RF unit) and computer.
• Identify problems, collect data, establish facts, and communicate in a timely fashion.
• Communicate with manager to rectify issues.
• Follow proper administration, confidentiality, safety, and security procedures and standards.
• Promote an environment and culture focused on customer service, safety, diversity, and teamwork.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Apply common sense to detailed written or oral instructions.
• Key in data, type, and operate computer keyboard.
• Work exposed to cold temperatures in winter and hot temperatures in summer.
• Work flexible hours and alternate shifts with limited notice.
• Stand, stoop, lift, and perform manual dexterity.
• Lift up to 50-pound boxes, remain on feet entire shift.
• Ascend staircases and perform standing work on an elevated platform.
• Fork truck, reach truck, or rider walkie experience helpful.
• Knowledge of warehouse order picking processes helpful.
