The Warehouse DC Supervisor is responsible for supervising all areas of Warehouse Operations in a Distribution Center, including, but not limited to, clerks, pallet builders, checkers, loaders, forklift drivers, etc. The role provides leadership to the team, trains and evaluates warehouse personnel and processes, and maintains expertise in all areas of warehouse operations when required. The supervisor leads performance management, interviews potential candidates, directs work, and offers guidance and support to designated responsibilities.
The role reports to the Warehouse DC Manager and handles personnel and process issues while promoting company policies, safety procedures, and core values.
- Supervises and directs daily warehouse activities to ensure safe and successful completion of all operations, acting as the person of authority in the building.
- Oversees training of warehouse personnel and verifies compliance with all applicable warehouse processes, including damaged product check-in procedures.
- Conducts interviews and makes hiring decisions for hourly teammates; documents and delivers performance management discussions, including disciplinary documents.
- Communicates with other departments and stakeholders regarding process improvements, quality, out-of-stocks, late loads, and related issues.
- Manages and models the safety culture, striving for 100% compliance with safety policies and procedures.
- Ability to lead, coach, teach, and train in a manner that aligns with the company purpose.
- Extensive knowledge of all warehouse processes and systems.
- Ability to prioritize, multi‑task, and think proactively.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Computer skills:
Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Internet Explorer. - Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment while walking and repetitively lifting 30 lbs.
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
- Ability to collaborate within a team environment.
- Ability to coordinate and organize efficient and dependable warehouse processes.
- Ability to adapt to the needs of the role in different work areas throughout the workday and meet minimum expectations of those areas.
- Ability to read and interpret instructions from a computer screen.
- Attention to detail and ability to differentiate packages.
- Ability to work/lead in a noisy and non‑temperature‑controlled environment (hot in summer, cold in winter).
- Intentional self‑starter who takes initiative and proactively seeks value‑add opportunities.
- Flexibility: schedules/hours may change with business demands.
- High school diploma or GED with 1–3 years of relevant experience.
- 1–2 years of experience supervising or leading people in a warehouse environment.
- PIT (Powered Industrial Truck) certification.
Noisy and non‑temperature‑controlled environment, including high and low temperatures.
