We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our client's team in Indianapolis, Indiana. This role involves managing financial transactions, preparing reports, and assisting with both accounting and human resources functions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting practices and an ability to maintain accuracy and confidentiality in all tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and submit regular financial reports, including monthly and yearly closings.
- Investigate discrepancies in financial records and ensure the integrity of reports.
- Record and process journal entries to maintain accurate business transaction records.
- Reconcile petty cash and direct bill commissions to ensure accurate tracking.
- Process balance sheets, income statements, and other financial statements in compliance with company guidelines.
- Generate invoices and handle payment processing, including deposits and vendor payables.
- Update financial data to ensure availability and accuracy for immediate use.
- Assist human resources with leave management, record-keeping, and wellness budget tracking.
- Support open enrollment processes and other HR-related administrative tasks.
- Contribute to special projects within accounting and human resources as needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent is required; a bachelor's degree or associate's degree is preferred.
- At least three years of relevant industry experience is strongly desired.
- Proficiency in accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and invoice processing.
- Strong data entry skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong analytical skills to evaluate financial data and resolve discrepancies.
