We're seeking a Accounts Receivable Specialist in Shelbyville who enjoys tracking payments, logging transactions, and helping the team stay on top of deadlines. Organized? Detail-obsessed? You're exactly who we want.

The Must-Have Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field
• 2+ years of experience in accounting with exposure to both AP and fixed asset functions preferred.
• Experience with ERP systems (Infor, SAP, Oracle, etc.)
• Experience supporting audits and month-end closure.
• Possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas).
• Working knowledge of MS Word.
• Detail-oriented, analytical, and strong organization skills.
• Understanding of AR processes, credit risk, and asset accounting principles.

A Look at Your Day

Monitor and maintain customer accounts, ensuring timely and accurate payments (checks, ACH, wire). Perform proactive collection activities and communicate with customers regarding overdue balances. Prepare and analyze AR aging reports; identify risks and escalate issues related to credit limits and overdue accounts. Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies, short payments, chargebacks, and unapplied cash. Coordinate with Sales, Customer Service, and Operations to address invoice or delivery discrepancies.

Support AR month-end activities including reconciliations, revenue checks, adjustments, and reporting. Maintain thorough documentation for audit and compliance requirements.
