Accounts Payable Specialist (Part-Time | Contract-to-Hire)

Location:

North of Downtown Indianapolis (Fully On-Site)

Schedule:

20 hours/week | Weekdays between 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (flexible within business hours)

Status:
Contract-to-Hire (remains part-time upon permanent hire)

We're partnering with a well-established non-profit organization in Indianapolis to add a Part-Time Accounts Payable Specialist to their team.

This role offers consistent part-time hours with long-term potential.

What You'll Do

+ Process invoices, check requests, and payments accurately and on time

+ Code invoices to the correct GL accounts and maintain vendor records

+ Assist with account reconciliations and general ledger entries

+ Prepare and record incoming payments (checks, credit cards, electronic funds)

+ Support month-end and year-end processes, including 1099 preparation

+ Maintain strong relationships with vendors and internal staff

+ Provide general accounting and administrative support as needed

Requirements

What We're Looking For

+ 2+ years of accounts payable experience

+ Solid understanding of basic accounting principles

+ Strong Excel and general computer skills

+ High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities

+ Strong communication and organizational skills

+ Comfort working in a fully on-site environment

Nice to Have

+ Experience in non-profit or fund accounting

+ Exposure to Financial Edge or similar accounting systems

+ Grant accounting experience
