Staff Accountant

We are seeking a Staff Accountant to support our core financial operations. General Accounting
- Prepare and post journal entries
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
- Assist in monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data
- Ensure adherence to company policies and GAAP
- Preform balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and clearing accounts
- Support subledger to general ledger tie-outs (AR, AP, Inventory)
- Assist with AR Aging and collections follow-up
- Support AP processes including invoice coding and review
- Monitor and resolve discrepancies in customer and vendor accounts
- Track and manage vendor/customer rebate programs, supplier promotions, and buying group rebates
- Assist in preparation of internal financial statements
- Support variance analysis and explain fluctuations
- Provide data for audits and external reporting as needed
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and controls
- Assist with documentation of procedures and workflows
- Support system implementations and automation initiatives
- Experience with ERP systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, formulas)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to organize and prioritize daily workload, and meet deadlines
- Ability to communicate effectively (via phone, email, and in person)
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience
