Accounting Specialist (Construction)
Location: North Side of Indianapolis, IN
Salary: $60,000–$70,000 depending on experience
We are seeking an experienced Accounting Specialist with a construction accounting background to support day-to-day financial operations for a growing construction company. This role focuses on AP/AR, job costing, and supporting month-end close in a project-based environment.
Responsibilities- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Perform job cost accounting by project, phase, and cost code
- Reconcile bank and general ledger accounts
- Assist with month-end close and financial reporting
- Prepare lien waivers and manage subcontractor/vendor documentation
- Support payroll reviews and job allocations
- Work closely with project managers to resolve cost discrepancies
- 2+ years of accounting experience within the construction industry (required)
- Working knowledge of job costing and construction accounting practices
- Experience with accounting software (Sage, Viewpoint, Quick Books, or similar)
- Proficient in Excel
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
