Administrative Support
This onsite Administrative Support role provides essential office and customer service support within an auction yard environment. You will work closely with a small, collaborative team to handle paperwork, data entry, and customer inquiries, ensuring that auction operations run smoothly and efficiently.
Responsibilities- Provide professional customer support through mail, telephone, and in-person interactions, including assisting walk-in clients with paperwork and questions.
- Process customer orders and assignments accurately, entering all required information into internal computer systems.
- Reference pricing and delivery information to answer customer questions and support decision-making.
- Respond promptly and courteously to customer inquiries and requests, ensuring a positive customer experience.
- Set up new customer records and maintain existing records, keeping information accurate and up to date.
- Perform clerical and administrative duties such as word processing, filing, and organizing documents.
- Prepare paperwork for auction day, including securing necessary approvals and ensuring all documentation is complete.
- Assist with general office duties to support overall branch operations as needed.
- Collaborate with office leadership, customer service, dispatch, and title clerks to ensure smooth daily workflow.
- Prior administrative experience in a role requiring strong attention to detail.
- Demonstrated good job tenure with a history of reliability and commitment.
- Proficient computer skills, including email, Excel, and basic computer functions.
- Accurate data entry skills with a focus on completeness and correctness.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a busy office environment while maintaining organization.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for phone, email, and in-person interactions.
- Customer service mindset with the ability to respond professionally to questions and requests.
Skills & Qualifications
- Prior experience in a customer-facing role is preferred.
- Experience using Microsoft Office applications for word processing and spreadsheets.
- Comfort working with internal computer systems and databases.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a small, cross-functional office team.
This position is fully onsite in an office setting located within an auction yard. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with a one-hour lunch break. You will work as part of a close-knit team of nine, including office leadership, customer service, dispatch, and title clerks. The environment is structured and fast-paced on auction days, with a strong focus on accuracy, timeliness, and collaboration.
Standard office technology and computer systems are used daily for data entry, email communication, and document preparation. Dress is typical for an office setting appropriate for frequent customer interaction.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Indianapolis, IN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
