Shareholder Services Specialist

Location: This role requires associates to be in-office 3-4 days per week at our Indianapolis location, fostering collaboration and connectivity, while providing flexibility to support productivity and work-life balance. This approach combines structured office engagement with the autonomy of virtual work, promoting a dynamic and adaptable workplace.

The Shareholder Services Specialist is responsible for supporting the Shareholder Services operations and provides corporate governance support for the Board of Directors of a large, publicly traded company in a fast-paced environment. They are responsible for overseeing shareholder records and ownership and coordinating activities related to the annual shareholder meeting and the Elevance Health proxy statement, as well as assisting with department budgets.

The candidate will interact with Elevance Health's Corporate Secretary, other members of senior management and Elevance Health's Board of Directors.

How You Will Make an Impact:
  • Responds to shareholder inquiries and act as liaison with the transfer agent.
  • Supports preparation and distribution of the annual proxy statement.
  • Assists with Section 16 reporting and insider trading compliance activities, including the preparation and filing of Forms 3, 4 and 5 with the SEC.
  • Assists with the quarterly dividend process and other shareholder mailings.
  • Provides support for the Shareholder Services and Corporate Governance sections of the company website.
  • Assists with Corporate Governance deliverables, including research and preparation of director and officer questionnaires.
  • Coordinates inputs across Legal, Finance, Human Resources, Investor Relations, and Corporate Communications to support accurate and timely deliverables.
  • Maintains shareholder records and documentation in accordance with established procedures and regulatory requirements.
Minimum Requirements:

Requires a BA/BS in business or a related field and a minimum of 3 years of public company shareholder services experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities, and Experiences:
  • Experience in shareholder services and corporate governance, including at a publicly traded company.
  • Experience with shareholder meetings and shareholder interactions.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Experience managing vendors, including service level compliance, invoice review and contract compliance.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Adobe professional and Form 4 filing software (Workiva or any other brand).
  • Ability to learn new software programs.
  • Experience with proxy statements and SEC Forms 3, 4 and 5 for officers and directors.
