Estimator - Landscaping Indianapolis, IN Full-Time On-Site

$70,000 - $80,000 /yr

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Mid-Level Estimator to support pre-construction efforts for large-scale landscaping, hardscape, and outdoor living projects. This role is ideal for a professional with a strong foundation in estimating who can independently produce accurate takeoffs and pricing while collaborating closely with project and operations teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents to develop accurate project estimates
  • Perform detailed quantity takeoffs using Bluebeam
  • Prepare cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontracted work
  • Solicit and analyze bids from subcontractors and suppliers
  • Assess project scope, identify risks, and recommend cost-effective solutions
  • Collaborate with project managers and field teams to validate assumptions and pricing
  • Assist in proposal preparation and bid submissions
  • Maintain organized bid files, cost databases, and historical pricing data
  • Support value engineering efforts to improve project efficiency and profitability
  • Participate in handoff meetings with operations upon project award
Qualifications
  • 2+ years of estimating experience in landscaping, hardscape, outdoor living, or related construction
  • Demonstrated experience with mid- to large-scale commercial or high-end residential projects
  • Proficiency in Bluebeam (required) for takeoffs and plan review
  • Strong understanding of site development, irrigation, planting, grading, and hardscape construction methods
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical specifications
  • Working knowledge of construction costs, materials, and subcontractor trades
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate in a remote environment
  • Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously
