Project Managers for VA/Federal projects
Looking for experienced Project Managers capable of successfully executing Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) federal construction projects.
These projects are not standard commercial builds. They require disciplined documentation, strict regulatory compliance, and the ability to manage complex, MEP-intensive scopes within active medical or mission-critical environments.
Ideal candidates will have a mindset suited for structured, high-accountability environments where procedural discipline and schedule control are critical to success.
Responsibilities:- Manage projects from start to finish, including full oversight and quality control
- Develop and maintain project schedules, timelines, and budgets
- Review, approve, and manage subcontractor proposals, scopes, and change orders
- Maintain all project documentation: daily logs, reports, inventories, and records
- Coordinate with leadership on scope, buy-outs, and reserves
- Perform billing reviews, audits, and invoicing
- Monitor project risks and proactively address schedule or budget issues
- Respond to on-call needs and manage technician/subcontractor availability, 24/7
- Fill in as needed, including hands-on tasks and additional responsibilities
Education:
- 7+ years of commercial construction Project Management experience
- Demonstrated experience on federal projects (VA, DoD, USACE, GSA strongly preferred)
- Experience managing projects in the $5M-$50M range
- Proven success with MEP-heavy or infrastructure-driven scopes
- Experience working in occupied healthcare or mission-critical facilities
- Familiarity with Davis-Bacon / prevailing wage requirements
- Experience with federal documentation standards, submittals, and change management
- Understanding of firm-fixed-price contract environments
- Strong schedule management (Primavera or MS Project proficiency preferred)
- OSHA 30 minimum
- Strong subcontractor coordination and buyout capability
- Detail-oriented with disciplined documentation habits
- Ability to manage compliance-heavy environments without supervision
- Clear communicator with CORs, government representatives, and inspectors
