Position Summary

The Project Engineer supports both the Project Manager and Superintendent in driving successful project execution. This role is responsible for coordinating project documentation, assisting with schedule and cost management, supporting field operations, and maintaining clear communication with architects, consultants, and subcontractors. The Project Engineer helps ensure that project safety, quality, and workflow standards are always upheld.

This position reports to the Project Manager and may be placed onsite with the Superintendent. Occasional travel may be required.

Essential Functions
  • Develop a complete understanding of contract drawings, specifications, addenda, RFIs, and all related project documents
  • Assist with managing changes to project scope, schedule, and cost
  • Support jobsite setup and startup, including safety postings, field office layout, temporary utilities, staging areas, and equipment coordination
  • Coordinate internal labor, subcontractors, and third-party vendors to ensure work is completed on time, within scope, and within budget
Core Responsibilities
  • Support the Project Manager and Superintendent in managing field operations and project workflow
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with all project stakeholders
  • Review project documents for construct-ability, completeness, and alignment with project requirements
  • Maintain and update project records, including RFIs, ASIs, submittals, and as-built documentation
  • Assist in developing and enforcing site‑specific emergency action plans
  • Coordinate subcontractor activities and ensure alignment with project schedule and quality expectations
  • Coordinate inspections with building officials, subcontractors, and third‑party agencies
  • Conduct daily job site walks with the Superintendent and submit daily safety audit reports
Desired Skills & Experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Bluebeam, and Procore
  • Strong understanding of construction industry practices, procedures, and market trends
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent experience (10+ years)
  • Highly organized with the ability to plan, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks
  • Detail oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy and quality
  • Professional and composed under tight deadlines
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and professional development
Working Conditions
  • Full time role, typically 40+ hours per week, with a dynamic schedule based on project needs.
  • Work performed in a construction environment, including outdoor job sites, active building areas, and office settings.
  • Exposure to moderate safety risks is inherent to construction sites; adherence to all safety protocols is required.
