Construction Laborer
This role supports the production of underground concrete duct bank boxes by performing a variety of hands-on construction tasks. You will work as part of a team to set up rebar, build and prepare forms, assist with concrete pours, and maintain a clean and safe work area in a mixed indoor and outdoor construction environment.
Responsibilities- Set up rebar, tie it securely, and prepare it for subsequent production stations according to project specifications.
- Assist in creating and assembling concrete forms, including cutting and measuring materials to the required dimensions.
- Clean and oil concrete forms before and after each assembly to ensure proper release and reuse.
- Support concrete pouring operations by helping position concrete troughs correctly for pours and ensuring materials are in place.
- Operate vibrating tools to settle concrete evenly and flush within the forms.
- Assist in finishing concrete once the duct bank box is poured, including smoothing and preparing the surface as it begins to cure.
- Perform general facility and jobsite cleanup, including broom work, picking up trash, and removing debris.
- Move materials, tools, and components to different staging lanes or workstations as directed.
- Carry tools, boxes, wood boards, and other materials safely around the worksite.
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while working in an active construction environment.
- Experience working with concrete in residential or commercial construction environments.
- Ability to bend, twist, stoop, and kneel frequently during the workday.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds or more to at or near head level safely and repeatedly.
- Ability to carry materials such as tools, boxes, and wood boards across the jobsite.
- Comfort working with hand tools commonly used in construction and landscaping.
- Willingness to perform general labor tasks in a production and construction setting.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
Skills & Qualifications
- OSHA 10 certification or other safety-related certifications are a plus.
- Prior experience on open construction sites is beneficial.
- Comfort working with vibrating tools and basic concrete finishing techniques.
- Strong work ethic and reliability, including willingness to work overtime when available.

Work EnvironmentThe work takes place on an open construction site with both indoor and outdoor tasks. You will regularly encounter mud, wet conditions, and cold weather, as well as hot temperatures during the summer. The environment is physically demanding and involves working around concrete production equipment, hand tools, vibrating tools, and various construction materials. Work hours follow a Monday–Saturday schedule, with overtime opportunities available based on project needs.
Dress appropriately for changing weather conditions and a rugged construction setting, including suitable footwear and workwear that can handle mud, moisture, and temperature extremes.
This is a Contract position based out of Indianapolis, IN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $34.00/hr.
