Job Description & How to Apply Below

Engineering Technician

This mid-level Engineering Technician role focuses on CAD and Revit production work to support engineering teams in delivering high-quality construction documentation and standardized models. The position centers on executing clearly defined drafting, modeling, and documentation tasks based on engineering direction, without design ownership or decision-making responsibilities. You will work from redlines, legacy drawings, and partial information, using placeholders where needed, while maintaining progress with minimal supervision across multiple concurrent projects.

Responsibilities

  • Produce and organize drawing sheets in Revit/AutoCAD from defined views and layouts, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
  • Populate title blocks, place views, and maintain sheet organization per standards.
  • Apply annotations, tags, and notes; update full drawing sets for consistency.
  • Execute redlines/markups and incorporate iterative engineering feedback.
  • Track revisions and maintain version control across drawing iterations.
  • Build and maintain Revit families, templates, and standard details.
  • Develop and organize detail libraries; remove outdated or redundant content.
  • Support reusable components to improve efficiency and standardization.
  • Clean and organize Revit models (families, views, naming, visibility, structure).
  • Ensure annotation accuracy and alignment with standards.
  • Maintain drawing logs, revision records, and organized file structures.
  • Prepare submittal-ready packages (formatting, PDFs, complete deliverables).
  • Modify standard layouts and adjust dimensions/annotations as designs evolve.
  • Place equipment/families and update schedules based on defined inputs.
  • Convert and standardize legacy AutoCAD drawings into Revit models.
  • Assemble drawing packages and models strictly per engineer direction and standards.
  • Translate sketches/markups into structured models while preserving design intent.
  • Identify and flag missing or unclear inputs for engineering review.
  • Work within defined standards; escalate design questions or ambiguities.
  • Support multiple projects, flexing workload by phase and priority.
  • Operate effectively in a task-based, high-volume drafting environment.

Essential Skills

  • 5–10 years of production-focused CAD experience, with a clear emphasis on executing drafting tasks rather than leading design.
  • 5-10 years of Revit experience
  • Experience using Revit in a construction documentation context.
  • Familiarity with building codes as they relate to drawing production and documentation.
  • Proficiency with view placement, detailing, revision updates, and document control within Revit.
  • Ability to follow engineering direction precisely without modifying design intent or layout concepts.
  • Experience working with incomplete inputs such as redlines, legacy drawings, or partial information while maintaining progress.
  • Proven ability to continue work using placeholders or temporary assumptions until final information is available.
  • Ability to maintain drawing logs, revision records, and organized file structures.
