About the Role:
Adjunct Faculty are hired each semester on an as-needed basis. Adjunct Faculty are responsible for creating a learning environment that assists students in reaching their goals; and for providing effective instruction and assessment within the framework of common syllabi provided.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Facilitate student learning by delivering assigned classes in accordance with College policy and course objectives.
* Make optimal use of available technology to enhance instructional methods.
* Supplement and alter, where appropriate, lesson plans, assignments, tests, and materials. Maintain accurate student records, grades, and other requirements.
* Engage with students proactively and regularly in meaningful and productive ways that impact student learning and lead to a positive experience with Ivy Tech Community College.
* Demonstrate evidence of developing and implementing teaching strategies focused on engaging online students with their learning.
* Interact with students and co-workers in a professional and cooperative manner, complying with College policies, guidelines and expectations.
* Maintain a safe, quality online educational environment.
* Must demonstrate the ability to promote an environment that reflects the broad backgrounds represented by our students and employees in which every individual feels respected and valued.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Business Operations, Applications, and Technology Program Standard:
A qualified faculty member in Business Operations, Applications, and Technology meets the program standard through one of four routes:
* Possesses an earned master's or higher degree from a regionally accredited institution in a business or computer-related discipline, as appropriate to the program; or
* Possesses a related or out-of-field master's degree, from a regionally accredited institution, with documented 18 post-secondary semester hours or equivalent of courses in business or computer-related discipline as appropriate to the program beyond the introductory principle(s) level; or
* Possesses an earned related or out-of-field master's degree, from a regionally accredited institution, with documentation in two or more of the following:
* Professional certification (national, regional or state)
* Two years of in-field professional employment
* Documented evidence of teaching excellence, including date of award
* Documentation of research and publication in the field
* Documented relevant additional coursework beyond the bachelor's degree, equivalent to 18 semester hours or equivalent subject matter coursework, CEU's, vendor, or military; or
* Possesses an earned bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution in a business or computer-related discipline appropriate to the program, with documentation in two or more of the following:
* Professional certification (national, regional or state), or
* Two years of in-field professional employment, or
* Documented evidence of teaching excellence, including date of award, or
* Documentation of research and publication in field, or
* Documented relevant additional coursework beyond the bachelor's degree, equivalent to 18 semester hours or equivalent matter coursework, CEU's, vendor or military
