MISSION
Global Preparatory Academy develops compassionate global leaders through a rigorous education program that focuses on hands-on, cultural and Spanish immersion learning opportunities.
SUMMARY
Global Preparatory Academies, are a network of dual language schools near downtown Indianapolis. We are launching our new middle academy in the Fall of 2026. Our network of schools connect students from diverse linguistic backgrounds and educates them together in a highly rigorous, engaging and nurturing environment. Using both English and Spanish to instruct students in all core content areas, students will develop high levels of bilingualism and biliteracy, as well as a deep value and understanding of other cultures.
As citizens in a global world, students at Global Prep gain limitless access to other cultures through bilingualism and instruction, which emphasizes critical thinking using global perspectives and experiential learning.
POSITION SUMMARY
Global Preparatory Middle Academy is not a traditional school environment. We are seeking an innovative, entrepreneurial performing arts educator who thrives in mission-driven spaces and is eager to create something bold, culturally grounded, and community-connected.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Instruction & Curriculum
* Plan and deliver standards-aligned performing arts instruction that may include music, theatre, dance, spoken word, and visual art for assigned grade levels.
* Design learning experiences that build students' skills in musicianship, rhythm, vocal performance, movement, and artistic expression.
* Integrate global perspectives, culture, and identity into performing arts instruction, including opportunities for students to explore music and performance traditions from around the world.
* Incorporate Spanish language development through performing arts vocabulary, critique protocols, and bilingual labels, lyrics, scripts, and displays.
* Support students in expressing identity and culture through music, movement, and performance in both English and Spanish.
* Collaborate with classroom teachers to reinforce immersion themes and bilingual units of study through music integration, performance projects, and interdisciplinary arts experiences.
* Participate in school-wide bilingual showcases that celebrate biliteracy and multiculturalism through concerts, performances, exhibitions, and student-led productions.
* Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs, including students with varying levels of performance confidence and artistic experience.
* Maintain a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment that supports both creative risk-taking and high expectations.
* Assess student learning through performances, portfolios, rehearsals, artist reflections, and performance-based tasks.
* Provide timely feedback to students and families on growth in artistic skill, collaboration, and stage presence.
Collaboration & School Culture
* Collaborate with instructional staff, other school personnel, parents and a variety of community resources for improving the overall quality of student outcomes & strengthen student experiences through the arts.
* Support school-wide showcases, concerts, and bilingual cultural celebrations.
* Help grow arts opportunities such as choir, ensembles, musical theatre, or student-led productions.
* Support school-wide events, performances, students showcases and exhibitions
OTHER FUNCTIONS
* Attend professional development, staff meetings, and school events as assigned.
* Perform other duties as assigned to support school operations.
* Model GPA core values in all interactions.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Includes standing for extended periods, movement between classrooms, light lifting of supplies, and working in an active school environment.

EXPERIENCE & BACKGROUND
* Experience building, launching, or growing a performing arts program in a school, studio, nonprofit, or community setting
* Demonstrated experience directing, choreographing, producing, or leading live performances or showcases
* Experience working with middle school-aged youth in educational, artistic, or mentorship settings
* Strong classroom culture and behavior management skills that balance creativity with structure
* Experience engaging families and the broader community through performances, exhibitions, or cultural events
* Demonstrated ability to design original programming that is culturally responsive and student-centered
* Experience collaborating with other educators or artists to integrate performing arts into broader school culture
* Background in theatre, dance, music, spoken word, or multidisciplinary performing arts
* Experience working in mission-driven, high-expectation environments
