Job Description:
As a Special Education Teacher at Adelante, you play a vital role in supporting the unique learning needs and potentials of our diverse scholar population. Your dedication ensures that every scholar, regardless of their challenges, receives a tailored and inclusive education that fosters their academic, social, and emotional growth.

We provide comprehensive support and materials, allowing you to concentrate on delivering personalized instruction and fostering a classroom culture of acceptance and encouragement. Your work is essential in empowering our scholars with the skills, confidence, and resilience needed to succeed in school and beyond, making a lasting impact on their lives and their communities.
Specific Responsibilities:
Compliance
* Identifies scholars with IEPs and 504 Plans and retrieves relevant records from previous placements and/or district offices before the start of the school year (e.g. data from Home Questionnaire, CAP scan, IEP Acknowledgement and Compliance forms)
* Maintains current, comprehensive, and organized IEP, 504, MLL, and at-risk files in the special education space (e.g. scholar Support Plans, referrals, anecdotal notes, evaluation reports, progress reports progress monitoring data, attendance, and Related Service Authorization
* Maintains current and accurate IEP, 504, MLL, and at-risk data
* Provides applicable general education teachers and related service providers copies of the IEPs or 504s and educates colleagues about scholars' instructional, behavioral, and therapeutic needs before the start of the school year
* Tracks all suspension records to identify patterns of behavior, completes Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs), and monitors scholars' response to Behavior Intervention Plans; ensures that BIPs are created for scholars with IEPs who have received 7 or more days of out-of-school suspension
* Completes local and state reports for the Chief Operating Officer to submit in a timely manner
* Documents access to IEP, 504, MLL, and at-risk files (e.g. Confidential scholar File Access Log)
* Consistently prepares differentiated lessons that weave past and present concepts to maximize scholar learning
