Job Description:

As a teacher at Adelante, you play a pivotal role in expanding our scholars' literacy and understanding of the world. Utilizing Adelante's advanced resources, including classrooms, labs, and technology, you'll provide dynamic, hands-on learning experiences. This collaborative environment allows for the integration of literacy within your specialized instruction, reinforcing the interconnectedness of all academic disciplines.

We provide all necessary curriculum materials, enabling you to concentrate on what you do best: inspiring and educating. In your role, you're building a foundation for critical thinking, problem-solving, and a passion for learning, setting our scholars on the path to success in their future academic endeavors.

Specific Responsibilities:

* Implement curricula and activities that meet Indiana academic standards.

* Conduct assessments to gauge progress toward academic standards.

* Utilize assessment data to refine the curriculum and inform teaching strategies.

* Apply consistent rewards and/or consequences to ensure scholars adhere to the school's core values, expectations, and conduct code.

* Be accountable for scholars' mastery of academic standards.

* Contribute to grade-level and school-wide activities.

* Maintain clear and effective communication with scholars, families, and colleagues.

* Engage actively in team meetings, including participating in an annual summer staff orientation and training.

* Supervise scholars during classes, breaks, meals, specials, and transitions to ensure a productive learning environment and their safety.

* Attend and engage in school events outside regular hours (e.g., family nights, scholar performances, field trips, report card nights, and Teacher-Family Conferences).

* Uphold and promote Adelante's core values and educational philosophy.

* Commit to being present and engaged at the school from 7:10 AM to 4:10 PM, Monday through Friday, with flexible work times available from 2:30-4:10 PM.

* Fulfill other duties as assigned.

* Proven ability to contribute to and collaborate with a high-performing team toward high, equitable achievement for all scholars.

* Outstanding emotional intelligence, communication, and interpersonal skills.

* Strong technical and organizational skills.

* Eagerness for constant observation and feedback

* Deeply rooted belief that children are capable of reaching the highest bars we set for them
