Position: Director of the DNP Family Nurse Practitioner Program
As a part of a diverse community of faculty and staff who represent many faith systems and worldviews, Marian University seeks a Director for the Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) Track in the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) Program to promote our Catholic Franciscan mission and identity by providing leadership in curriculum development, program implementation, and student and community engagement within advanced nursing education.

This position serves as a dynamic and innovative leader responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and evaluation of the FNP track within the Leighton School of Nursing. The Director also supports community outreach efforts, including establishing and maintaining clinical partnerships, negotiating student placement agreements, and recruiting qualified candidates to the program.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

* Actively engage the Catholic Franciscan mission and identity of Marian University by modeling the Franciscan Sponsorship Values, honoring the legacy of the founding congregation, promoting unity in diversity, and integrating the Catholic Franciscan intellectual traditions in courses, programs, and services.

* Collaborates with LSON Dean and Graduate Program Assistant/Associate Dean in budget development and implementation to maintain adequate resources

* Serves on the following LSON and MU-related committees: LSON Faculty Council, Graduate Nursing Faculty Council, Graduate Leadership Directors/Deans, Graduate Admissions, DNP Handbook Revision, Graduate Advisory Board, University and state-related meeting(s); other job-related committees

* Leads the FNP Town Hall meetings for faculty, staff, and students

* Works closely with the Graduate Clinical Coordinator to ensure clinical placement and compliance for graduate faculty and students

* Works closely with LSON Deans and Accreditation Specialist to ensure collection of assessment data and surveys needed to prepare timely reports, continuous improvement, and substantive change documentation, as needed to secure and maintain appropriate DNP and FNP track accreditation

* Oversees didactic and clinical curriculum development

* Collaborates with graduate faculty to develop FNP coursework

* Collaborates yearly with LSON leaders to update student handbook

* Works closely with LSON Deans to identify ways to improve FNP programming

* Participates in ongoing program and curricula quality improvement initiatives

* Utilizes a variety of teaching strategies and learning activities to enhance classroom and clinical learning and promote student achievement of program outcomes

* Accurately document student progress and achievement within specific courses and/or clinical assignments

* Serves as project team lead/member in accordance with the DNP project guidelines

* Fulfills all other duties and responsibilities of the faculty position as designated in the LSON Faculty Handbook

* Directs the collection and storage of FNP track documents and course materials, i.e. course notebooks, sample papers, class lists, syllabi, etc. on a shared server

* Supervises hiring process of FNP adjunct faculty and coordinates orientation of new faculty members to the FNP track

* Collaborates with other university departments to apply for outside funding opportunities

* Collaborates with the Assistant/Associate Dean of Graduate Programs regarding graduate school issues and policies

* Regularly evaluate adjunct and full-time program didactic and clinical faculty

* Collaborates regularly with university's Health Professions Admission and Enrollment Team on marketing and recruitment strategies

* Collaborates with other departments to accomplish university mission goals

* Engages in scholarly work and community service activities

* Serve as a model/resource for faculty and students.

* Accepts responsibility for assignments as delegated

* Maintain FNP certification requirements

* Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

* Doctoral degree in nursing, current certification as an FNP

* Current licensure as an APRN in state of residence

* Eligibility for RN licensure in Indiana and compact license

* Evidence of recent clinical practice

* Prior clinical, academic, scholarship and/or research experience

* Experience in administering a FNP program, knowledge of curricular design, prior experience with CCNE accreditation processes and outcomes assessment

* Minimum of 2 years of teaching in an academic nursing program setting (teaching experience in a graduate level program and adult & older adult health expertise a plus)

* Engagement in professional organizations and a record of scholarly achievement are highly desirable.

* Professional membership in the appropriate FNP organizations

* Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills

* Computer skills with knowledge & proficiency in MS Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
