Assistant Professor of Education and Coordinator of Graduate Internships
Marian University seeks a dynamic, student-centered, and collaborative professional to serve as Assistant Professor of Education and Coordinator of Graduate Internships, who will promote our Catholic Franciscan mission and identity through excellence in teaching, student mentorship, and clinical internship coordination within the Fred S. Klipsch Educators College.
Reporting to the appropriate academic leadership, the Assistant Professor of Education and Coordinator of Graduate Internships is a full-time, 9-month faculty position responsible for teaching graduate-level and licensure-only courses during the Fall and Spring semesters. The position also plays an integral role in organizing clinical internship courses and supporting students and university supervisors throughout the supervised clinical internship experience. Successful applicants will foster student learning and growth, demonstrate an understanding of the Science of Learning and Science of Reading, and serve as reflective practitioners.
This is a tenure-track eligible position with a non-tenure track option.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Actively engage the Catholic Franciscan mission and identity of Marian University by modeling the Franciscan Sponsorship Values and honoring the legacy of the founding congregation through transformative education, unity in diversity, leadership through service, integrating faith and life, and institutional policies.
- Teach graduate education courses at the Master's level.
- Responsible for all aspects of clinical internship courses and assignments.
- Coach university supervisors, conduct co-observations, and organize ongoing professional development for supervisors.

- Engage positively with other offices, departments, and colleges across the university.

Required Qualifications:
- Knowledge of and commitment to the mission of Marian University.
- A Masters degree from a regionally accredited university is required for appointment at the rank of Instructor. A terminal degree is required for appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor and/or tenure-track appointment.
- Training in the Science of Learning and Science of Reading is preferred.
- Candidates must have K-12 teaching experience.
- Candidates must have experience teaching adult professionals.
- Excellent teaching, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with colleagues.
