In School Suspension Supervisor
Supervise students who are assigned to in-school suspension. Essential job functions include taking accurate attendance each period, supervising students in ISS during lunch, sending for students who are absent from ISS, reporting absences from ISS to Deans, checking students in and out of ISS, obtaining assignments for all students while in ISS, returning homework to teachers on a timely basis, assisting in data entry of referral forms, keeping individual files on each student who has reported to ISS, maintaining a time of arrival log, not leaving students unattended, being firm, fair, and consistent, communicating with Assistant Principals in charge of discipline, and other duties as assigned.
Equipment use includes standard office equipment such as personal computers, printers, copiers, fax machines, calculators, and telephones. Travel to school district buildings and professional meetings as required. Pay rate is $15.75 per hour with a work schedule of 7.5 hours per day for 182 days per year.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities include willingness and ability to learn, proficiency with computer hardware and software, good organizational skills, ability to document processes and procedures, strong customer service skills, ability to work as part of a team, cooperative in achieving the desired technological goals of the school and district, and effective written and oral communication skills.
Physical and mental demands include ability to sit for extended periods of time, lift 25 pounds, work at a desk, conference table or in meetings of various configurations, see for the purpose of reading laws and codes, rules and policies and other printed matter, communicate so others will be able to clearly understand a normal conversation, operate job-related equipment, and reach in all directions.
License/registration/certification is not required. Education is a high school diploma or GED. Previous experience is preferred.
