Dual Language PLC Leader
Qualifications:
Elementary Licensure (Content Specialist) Bilingual ESL Certified/EL Experience Preferred
Reports to:
Director of Language Programs
Performance Responsibilities:
Build relationships with all staff to enhance Spanish and English language instruction in all classrooms and in the school
Advocate for the bilingual and biliteracy education for ALL students
Consult regularly with EL teachers, EL leads and classroom teachers to impact instructional decisions to better meet the needs of English language learners
Use data to close the Spanish literacy gap of native speakers arriving with varying levels of Spanish proficiency, set goals, and inform planning and instruction to continue to improve the academic achievement of all our students and their Spanish and English literacy skills
Lead and support the PLC in asset-based thinking and goals for students
Maintain regular communication with Director of Language Programs and District DL coaches regarding needs of English Learners and the improvement of instructional practices in content area classrooms
Stay up to date on the current research with EL and DL instructional practices
Attend DL PLC Leader monthly meetings
Attend related PD as requested by supervisors
Support building leaders and teachers with other duties as assigned
