Part-Time High School Equivalency (HSE) Teacher

Part-Time Evening HSE Adult Education Teacher is responsible for providing instruction to adult learners in language arts, mathematical reasoning, social studies, and science. The goal of instruction is to help students achieve measurable skill gains and earn a state-issued High School Equivalency (HSE) diploma, empowering them to pursue expanded career opportunities and support their family's educational development.

Instructional Delivery:
Develop daily lesson plans and deliver high-quality instruction using diverse instructional methods to support measurable skill gains and HSE test preparation.

Curriculum Implementation:
Effectively utilize adopted curricula, instructional materials, and designated digital platforms.

Assessment & Diagnostic Evaluation:
Prepare students for designated state and program assessments, diagnose learning needs, and analyze student progress data to adapt instruction to individual developmental stages.

Remediation & Feedback:
Monitor student performance, provide constructive feedback, and offer targeted remediation through whole-group instruction, small-group sessions, and digital platforms.

Classroom Management:
Maintain a structured, positive, and supportive classroom environment conducive to adult learning.

Program & School Improvement:
Collaborate actively with faculty and administrative staff to plan, implement, and evaluate adult education programs for continuous improvement.

Professional Development:
Attend mandatory faculty meetings, participate in staff development activities, and pursue ongoing professional growth to enhance instructional practices.

Technology Integration:
Maintain proficiency with current educational technology and digital tools utilized within the District and program.

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university required. Valid Indiana Teaching License or Adult Education certification preferred (per IDOE guidelines). Prior teaching experience preferred, particularly in adult education, HSE/GED preparation, or alternative education.

Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and sitting; ability to move around the classroom to assist students. Occasional lifting and carrying of instructional materials and technology up to 15 lbs. Daily operation of standard classroom technology (computers, interactive displays, document cameras).
