What you will be doing:
Here you'll have the opportunity to work on the following:
Lead Systems Engineering across the entire lifecycle. Be the focal point for System Engineering expertise within the project.
Ensure robust understanding of requirements and associated definition of the Rolls-Royce Enterprise and System. Create an appropriate Enterprise/System architecture solution which serves both business and technical needs.
Ensure requirements are robustly validated and requirement maturity/risks understood and communicated to the project team.
Develop the System Engineering strategy for the project and ensure this is reflected in the project governance and project master schedule.
Establish an appropriate, robust, and traceable requirements and verification structure that joins relevant information across multiple business areas and groups.
Guide the project/program team on System Thinking and the Systems Engineering approach to defining solutions, ensuring they address the full set of requirements.
Work with the SD&I System Architecture group to ensure product requirements are understood and requirement trades defined. Understand repercussions of potential system definition against the wider system/business
Provide Project Management support to various work packages within the Whole Engine team

Basic Requirements:
Bachelors of Science degree in Engineering and 2+ years of experience ORMasters of Science degree and 0 years of experience ORJD/ order to qualify for this role, must be a US citizen
Preferred:
Demonstrated project planning and management experience and ability to work without supervision on an extended, multifunctional engineering project team6+ years of experience in gas turbine engine development6+ years of experience in technical project management or systems engineering
Demonstrated organizational and prioritization skills
Ability to deal with ambiguity
Experience interfacing with customers on technical program issues
Gas turbine engine installation, verification, and performance experience
Excellent interpersonal, presentation and communication skills
Familiarity with new product development lifecycle
Knowledge of commercial engine certification/military engine qualification
Experience with IBM DOORS and system verification
