Description:

Plant Engineering Automation in Indianapolis Parenteral Manufacturing is responsible for maintaining the site's facility infrastructure including buildings, HVAC, UAF Hoods, GMP utilities, steam, water, sewer, and other utility systems to a state of compliance. It must assure that facilities and related infrastructure are fit for use when needed, maintenance and reliability techniques are efficient and effective, and appropriate corrective and improvement actions are taken when necessary.

Plant Engineering is also responsible for the efficient and effective management of local capital for their assets and oversight of engineering/maintenance contract resources.

The Engineer - Plant Engineering Automation in IPM Plant Engineering is responsible for supporting automation aspects for HVAC, Utilities, and Facilities throughout Indianapolis Parenteral Manufacturing at LTC-South. The Engineer - Plant Engineering Automation will develop, implement, and continuously improve process automation solutions within Indy Parenteral Manufacturing to ensure that business goals are achieved.

Key Objectives / Deliverables:

* Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment, leading safety initiatives, and working safely and accountable for supporting all HSE Corporate and Site Goals.

* Ensure that process automation solutions / systems are in-control, capable, and compliant throughout IPM Plant Engineering.

* Stay aligned and actively involved with internal customers. Understand their issues, priorities, and objectives.

* Respond to and implement customer requests. Troubleshoot problems.

* Perform routine maintenance and other activities that keep the control systems up-to-date and reliable.

* Assure that all capital projects are aligned with the Automation Strategy and that all established standards are followed.

* Define user requirements.

* Design system architectures.

* Develop and implement code.

* Perform testing and assist with Verification and Qualification activities (IV/OV/PQ).

* Utilize good project management skills to provide software development timelines and milestones.

* Change Control owner / executor for applicable automation systems in IPM Plant Engineering.

* Seek out, define, and implement control system, production process and business improvements.

* Manage contract resources while maintaining ownership for the end product.

* Replicate standards and control code developed by others.

* Stay current with validation expectations.

* Develop and maintain validation documentation.

* Develop and implement methods or procedures that build a consistent validation infrastructure.

* Seek ways to harmonize and improve practices that will have impact across multiple projects / facilities / systems.

Minimum Requirements:

* Good interpersonal and communications skills to be able to work effectively in a team-based environment.

* An understanding of automation requirements to meet compliance and business needs.

* Previous experience as a process automation engineer or process engineer.

Additional Preferences:

* Pharmaceutical experience.

* Computer System Validation experience.

Education Requirements:

* Bachelors Degree in Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience)

Other Information:

* Standard business hours (days, M-F) with after-hour support and shutdown support as needed.

* Minimal travel required
