Rolls-Royce is looking for a Senior Control System Certification Engineer to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on flagship Rolls-Royce programs and play a vital role in solving some of the most complex and interesting technological challenges in the industry while being part of a global, multi-disciplinary team.
As a Senior Control System Certification Engineer, you will be the owner of obtaining certification authority approval of the control system, software, and airborne electronic hardware aspects of engine certification. To be successful you must use guidance from the appropriate revision of DO-178, DO-254, ARP
4754 and supporting supplements. You will be responsible for communicating the certification approach, and the planning and compliance substantiation for the system, software, and airborne electronic hardware. You will coordinate the phases of the certification liaison process and the audits where the certification life cycle data is reviewed with the certification authority. This includes the development of planning baselines and incremental certifications i.e., changes to a previously developed control system, software, or airborne electronic hardware.
You will have the opportunity to travel up to 10% to support certification events.

What you will be doing
With this attractive opportunity you will get a chance to:
* Collaborate with certification authority and Rolls-Royce stakeholders to agree scope and deliverables for each stage of involvement by the certification authority.
* Work with a cross-functional team to establish the highest standards of technical capability, quality, professionalism, and teamwork to establish plans standards and procedures for developing work products of safety critical applications as per ARP
4754A, DO-178C and DO-254.
* Establishing communication and understanding between the control system development team, the Rolls-Royce compliance authority and the certification authority on the certification approach, planning and compliance substantiation for the control system.
* Collaborate with the development team leaders to ensure that certification plans are followed, and certification evidence is available at all phases of development.
* Communicate the scope of certification events to the development team and review deliverables and presentations for compliance to applicable plans and standards.
* Liaise with Rolls-Royce compliance and certification authorities to establish expectations and establish agreement to address findings, actions and comments.

Basic Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical or Computer Engineering with 2+ years of ARP 4754 certification experience, OR
* Master's degree in in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical or Computer Engineering, OR
* PhD in degree in in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical or Computer Engineering
* Experience with military qualification and/or FAA certification of airborne systems
* To be eligible for consideration, you must be a U.S. Citizen
