Job Title: Sub-System Design Lead - Liberty Works

Working Pattern: Full-Time On Site

Working location: Indianapolis, IN

An excellent opportunity has arisen within Liberty Works engineering for an Inlet and Exhaust Sub-System Design Lead. The Design Lead will provide engineering support to various technology programs and integrated project teams across the Defense business. The successful candidate will ensure that processes and methods are accurate, understood and consistently applied throughout the business via coaching of deployed engineers.

What you will be doing
  • Provide technical coaching, training, and written guidance to deployed engineers
  • Maintain, improve and develop in-house analysis tools and associated guidance materials
  • Support review and maintenance of site technology strategies, and actively participate in technology development programs
  • Execute engineering analysis for inlet and exhaust components
  • Provide engineering support of safety, development and/or service-related issues as they relate to inlet and exhaust systems
Who we're looking for:

Basic Requirements:
  • Bachelors in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with 5+ years of design experience; OR
  • Master's Degree Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with 3+ years of design experience; OR
  • PhD in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
  • To be considered for this opportunity, you must be eligible to obtain and maintain security clearance, which requires US Citizenship
Preferred Requirements:
  • Experience designing gas turbine components and sub-systems, including functional knowledge of relevant materials and structural analysis.
  • Leadership experience overseeing designs of gas turbine components/sub-systems from concept through manufacturing and test
  • Experience using computer aided design tools such as Siemens NX
  • Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), and the creation of limit stacks
  • Experience with generic design processes as well as component specific design guidance
  • Familiarity with structural component manufacturing processes including castings
  • Design experience with gas turbine hot section components
  • Familiarity working with whole engine loading and analysis
  • Technology development experience
  • Programming skills such as Visual Basic, Python, PERL, C++ and/or computational tools such as MATLAB
  • Good interpersonal skills to work effectively in a team environment; willingness to accept responsibility and take initiative; and drive to finish assigned tasks on schedule
