These teams support manufacturing, R&D, quality, and product development across North America.

We are hiring Materials Engineers at multiple Prysmian locations. These roles are ideal for engineers who enjoy hands-on lab work, analytical problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration. Whether you're analyzing polymers, improving formulations, supporting plant trials, or troubleshooting material-related issues, you'll be part of a team that directly impacts product performance, reliability, and innovation.

Role Responsibilities
  • Conduct material and polymer characterization using techniques such as FT-IR, DSC, TGA, SEM, XRF, and microscopy.
  • Support manufacturing and R&D teams by analyzing raw materials, compounds, and finished products to resolve technical issues.
  • Develop and refine test methods, SOPs, and material evaluation procedures.
  • Interpret data, prepare technical reports, and communicate findings to engineering, quality, and operations teams.
  • Participate in plant trials, troubleshoot material-related problems, and recommend improvements to formulations or processes.
  • Maintain lab equipment, ensure data integrity, and uphold safety and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with internal customers across multiple plants and business units to support ongoing projects and long-term development initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Polymer Science, Chemistry, or Materials/Polymer Engineering.
  • Hands-on experience with material or polymer testing and characterization.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret technical data.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a lab and plant environment.
  • Clear communication skills for reporting results and partnering with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2+ years of industrial experience in materials, polymers, or related fields.
  • Experience with cable, wire, plastics, extrusion, or compounding environments.
  • Familiarity with advanced analytical tools (FT-IR, DSC, TGA, SEM, DMA, XRF).
  • Background supporting manufacturing troubleshooting or process improvement.
  • Experience developing or updating test methods, SOPs, or material specifications.
