Senior Electromagnetic Compatibility Engineer (EMC) provides MIL-STD-461 and DO-160 Avionics aircraft system and component level design oversight in EMC/EMI fields to include bonding, grounding, shielding, EMI prediction, EMI analysis, conducted and radiated interference, lightning protection and HIRF.
In this role, you'll be a critical part to validating EMC compliance and primarily responsible for EMC design and test/verification for engine control system.
In this role you may be involved at any stage of a project including the initial brief for a concept, the design and development stage, testing of prototypes and the final manufacture and implementation of a new product or system. You'll usually work in project teams with colleagues in other branches of engineering.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to travel up to 25% between Rolls-Royce sites.

What you will be doing
With this attractive opportunity you will get a chance to:
- Conduct EMC Design Reviews of electronic systems and components
- Provide technical support and engineering design specifications to product design teams
- Lead system level design reviews to ensure EMC/EMI designs meet customer requirements
- Review and tailor EMI/EMC requirements to meet specified product performance for all aspects of Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) compliance, including EMI/EMC/EME/ESD/EMP and lightning, participate in design reviews, develop, and review test plans with customers
- Develop EMC control plan, test procedures and generate test reports
- Performing EMC testing of products in the laboratory and at client premises, in accordance with applicable standards and test plans, and performing other tests as assigned. Must be comfortable working hands on in lab environment.

Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering with 2+ years of experience in electronics design, OR
- Master's degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering, OR
- JD/PhD in Electronics/Electrical Engineering
- In order to be considered for this role, you must be a US Citizen
- 25% travel between sites:
Indianapolis and West Lafayette, IN as needed for work
