Senior Systems Engineer, Ductless and Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF)
The Senior Systems Engineer, Ductless and Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) is responsible for designing residential split system product and validate that meets intended market requirements. In addition, she/he will provide technical support and guidance to other business functions to support quality, manufacturing, and supply chain objectives.
Role Responsibilities:- Lead engineering product development and validation activities for the Ductless and Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) including cost estimates, implementation of standard specifications, drawing board layout and interpretation, testing plans, development of performance and service requirements.
- Effectively communicate verbally and in writing with diverse audiences including but not limited to, cross functional team members, senior leaders, global suppliers, and external customers including service managers and technicians.
- Collaborate with internal functions to support key metrics for a program and ensure all goals are achieved.
- Partner with core design team members to understand and translate design and process engineering requirements into product line design components, subsystems and products.
- Collaborate with lab technicians to complete performance testing, reliability testing and agency testing requirements.
- Work with Product Management, Service, Manufacturing, Quality and related departments to support the test and verification of field issues.
Qualification:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering.
- 5+ years experience in engineering functions experience for NPD's in Mechanical or Electrical Industry.
- 5+ years of experience in Refrigeration Engineering and/or Heat Transfer design.
- 5+ years of experience working with electronic controls in HVAC equipment.
- 5+ years of experience troubleshooting and solving HVAC system problems.
- 5+ years of experience working with HVAC product/component function, reliability and quality requirements.
- 5+ years of experience modeling design and qualifying (i.e. performance and reliability) HVAC systems.
- Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the USA. No visa sponsoring available.
- Master's or advanced degree in electrical engineer, industrial engineering, Mechanical Engineering or HVAC Engineering.
- Self-starter with ability to learn quickly and work independently under minimum direction and without day-to-day supervision to prioritize work to meet customer needs.
- Experience working in a team environment within (Design Services, Test Labs and Model Shop) and outside of functional support groups (Product Quality, Supplier Quality, Marketing, Manufacturing, Sourcing)
- Understanding of Industry-wide accepted system engineering tools.
- Knowledge of and experience using design for six sigma principles.
- Strong skills with Microsoft;
Excel, Project, PowerPoint, and Word. - Organized with strong attention to detail, while managing multiple priorities.
- Proven ability to implement continuous improvements and standardize processes.
- Strong understanding of the fundamentals of heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and thermodynamics.
Pay Range
The annual salary for this position is between $79,000.00 - $ annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate.
Other Compensation
This position may be entitled to short-term cash incentives, subject to plan requirements.
