Planned Activities Specialist I

We are seeking a Planned Activities Specialist I to support the installation, maintenance, and servicing of diagnostic laboratory equipment at hospitals, laboratories, and healthcare facilities. This is an excellent opportunity for recent engineering graduates or early-career professionals who enjoy hands-on technical work, troubleshooting complex systems, and working directly with customers in the field.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Install, configure, and perform preventive maintenance on diagnostic laboratory instruments at customer locations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, hardware, software, and system-related issues using established procedures.
  • Perform equipment modifications, technical updates, and reagent conversions as required.
  • Accurately document all service activities, maintenance records, and customer interactions in accordance with quality standards and company procedures.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service while building strong relationships with healthcare professionals and laboratory staff.
  • Maintain service tools, inventory, company equipment, and travel expenses in compliance with company policies.
  • Follow all safety, quality, and regulatory standards while supporting continuous process improvement initiatives.
  • Complete required technical training and certifications for assigned product lines.

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • 0–5 years of experience in engineering, field service, biomedical equipment, technical support, or a related technical environment.
  • Knowledge of electronics, electro-mechanical systems, information technology, and basic chemistry.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, organizational, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple service assignments.
  • Willingness and ability to travel approximately 90%, including occasional overnight travel.

Preferred experience includes:

  • Experience installing, maintaining, repairing, or calibrating laboratory, medical, or diagnostic equipment.
  • Previous field service or technical support experience within healthcare, laboratory, or medical device environments.
  • Experience performing preventive maintenance and equipment installations.

Requirements include:

  • Candidates will need to reside within an hour of the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.
  • Candidates will be travelling for up to 90% of their time, visiting customer locations to assist with various scheduled/planned activities on diagnostic laboratory equipment.
