Electrical & Mechanical Design Engineer

R.T. Moore Co., Inc., a family-owned mechanical contractor, seeks an Electrical & Mechanical Design Engineer to support plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical projects across residential, multi-family, and commercial construction. You will design electrical and mechanical systems, create CAD/BIM drawings, perform load calculations, and assist with equipment selection. Partner closely with project managers and field teams in a collaborative, design-build environment focused on safety, quality, and constructability.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical and mechanical (HVAC/plumbing) systems for residential, multi-family, and commercial projects.
• Develop drawings, models, and specifications using CAD/BIM tools.
• Perform load calculations and equipment selections to meet project and code requirements.
• Coordinate designs with project managers, field teams, and other trades in a design-build environment.
• Review submittals, respond to RFIs, and support installation and commissioning.
• Ensure designs comply with building codes, safety standards, and client requirements.
• Participate in value-engineering and constructability reviews.
• Support project schedules and budgets through accurate design and documentation.
